Default Starting The Single Cab Ranger Ls1 Swap

Well after much thought i have finally decided to go ahead and throw in a ls1 with a t56 in my dd ranger, my goal is to retain great reliability get better mpg and of course in so cal keep the a/c.

i know i have a task ahead of me that will take months to complete and thousands of dollars to do so.

my question is has this been done to a street truck per say? im not interested in turning this thing into a scrapped and half *** truggy, i am shooting for a clean and thorough swap. that looks stock from the outside.

my question is has anyone ever seen this done or attempted? im looking for some ideas on the motor mounts the trans cross member and of course the wiring. does anyone make a universale ls to donor car harness? ive heard of a few companies but have had a hard time finding them again,

any help would be appreciated,

thanks in advance luke

should be a easy swap with just some light fabrication... I am angry at myself for selling a90 ranger I had as It would have made a good light swap....

well i found a place near so cal that has complete engine and tranny drop outs with wiring harness computer radiator and all for a reasonable price, its going to cost more than the truck is worth but i think it will be a blast to drive.

has their been much luck with interfacing wiring harnesses?

What year Ranger are you starting out with, pre-97 or post-98?
