ls swap in my 86 notch
i have a 1986 mustang that i want to swap in an ls1 motor into it. but right now im not to sure what the difference is between the 5.3 5.7 and the 6.0 and if the L92 heads bolt on any of them. the reason i ask is because my local junk yard has about 20 5.3l from trucks and 1 6.0 and the 5.7 ive seen for 2 grand wich is beyon my budget. the dude is hooking me up with 200 for the 5.3 and 300 for the 6.0l im new to all of this kinda swap ive been ford fanatic until i owned a 98 z28 and that was bad *** but my first car was an 88 mustang gt. so you can kinda see where im going but need lots of help thanks. i can prob help some of you guys get some of these motors lol

From what understand you can use the 94+ K-member w/o too much modification, and Kook's makes a header for LS1/Fox swaps. If that is too pricey then you can go shorties or custom headers. I have seen Ebay headers used, all they had to do it change the flanges.
The guy in the second link has done it with relative ease. He is using cammed (225) LS1, stock stalled 4l60e, stock suspension and cutting 1.6 short times on the motor.

wow thanks. stock suspension you say? sweet! And do you need the k member you mentioned or is it just a matter of motor mounts? ive seen aje sell their k member with motor mounts ready for ls1 in a fox.
