Default Coming over to the "dark side" (half way anyways!)

Looking to do an LS1 in a 2001 GT. I have seen pullouts go for around $1500. They include motor, tranny, ecu, and wiring harness. What all is needed to do the swap. Thanks for the help in advance!

Are you going to run a carburetor or efi on the setup?

Which would be easier and cheaper?

Has anybody ever done the swap in this style mustang? I know they have in the fox bodies. If anyone knows of a write-up on it that would be great too

Similar swap.

Carbs are tricky to tune correctly despite what people say if you've never really gotten into it before. If you get a full take out the EFI will be cheaper. You will already have a tank that will work, just get a better fuel pump. I've been considering swapping to EFI. I got my engine origionally all with the EFI stuff sold all that and went carbed. It's really not any cheaper. I've spent about $700 on my carburetor getting it right, MSD box was $330 intake was about $300, dual wideband set was about $430.

If you go with EFI you can get a mail order tune and have it be pretty damn dead on. Like within 5wrhp or so.
