dont be silly, put the 5.7 hemi in it. i just put a ls motor in my 99 wrangler, but if there were ALL the parts to basically drop in a hemi i would have gone that route. everything is done for you with the hemi. even the exhaust. it wont be worth it to put the ls series motor in it.

this is my personal opinion. and if i ever sell this one and buy a newer wrangler i will put a hemi in it. PERIOD

I have to agree with that guy^ LSx swaps are so unoriginal these days, almost expected. Swap a 6.1L Hemi into your Jeep.

LS in my Wrangler TJ as well - and definitely don't regret it. But I agree that if I had a JK, I'd definitely do a hemi swap. Just seems to go with the theme better. And yes, it won't be cheap.. all of these swaps nickel and dime you to death

Oh man , I was thinking the same thing. I just did a 6.1 HEMI in my 71 DEMON , Let me tell you it aint cheap !!! Electronics are 3 times as much as LS engines. If I had to do it over again I would have done a LS engine in my DEMON.

dealer plates yawn. i don't see the attraction, no huge tires, no big lift, you can't tow with them. so why the extra power needed....?

the fact i have dealer plates means what? My pops owns a lot and i drive on d plates for free insurance basically. with 35 inch tires the lil 6 cyl jus isnt much to go out and play with doesnt have enough power. And after reading your post again i dont see where your going with it. Everything you said you cant do you can.

AEV is big on the Hemi swaps. May want to browse their forums for pointers, etc.. They can also do the install too if you desire. Or may have conversion parts to do it yourself.

some more reading:

Also, as suggested, Hotwire makes some killer aftermarket harnesses for the hemi engine. They can also graft your OEM Jeep harness to it to retain all the security, cruise, etc if you want..

I was joking a few months ago during the GM-Chrysler talks that if you wait a few months you could buy a new Jeep with a LS in it after GM buys them, the way GM's going now I hope you can buy a LS period in a few months!
