Default Harness question

Having a harness with the electronic throttle, does that add any problems to the conversion? If you want to run a cable throttle is that still possible?

Only things you need extra com paired to a cable throttle:

Gas Pedal Assembly
TAC Module (Throttle Actuator Controller)
Wire harness from gas pedal to TAC module.
Electric throttle body of course

That is it for electronic throttle.

Easiest route for going back to CABLE setup, get a different harness for 99-02. Use PCM for 99-02 with this harness. To use the 2003+ electric throttle harness there are several considerations.
-must use pcm capable of controlling idle controller motor. 2003 and maybe 2004 PCM's can do this. I read on LS1 tech here that after 2004 or so, the chip inside the computer is not there for idle controller motor.
-must program pcm with a calibration that had cable throttle in 2003. Express van is one example of that. Talk with you're tuner about options.

A note about express van calibrations: The Mass airflow sensor is different on express vans then on trucks. if using express van calibration, must set MAF tables to match that of a truck Mass airflow sensor if that's what you have.
