Default puting a LS syle motor in a 1979

i have a 1979 nova that i am building in to a pro-touring car,been loking at 5.3liter truck,can i use a LS_6 intake on this motor, and the car has old style pedels and can i use a 4 speed behind the motor thanks ronc

thanks john, what bellhousing should i use been looking atrichmond 5 and 6 speed tranys and d and d speed 6 speed set up to use the old syle clutch and is the ls1 fly wheel can it beused on a 5.3 liter, i realy what that 6 speed in my car ronc

Why not use a T56? It would be cheaper then a Richmond 6 speed. You can use the new McLeod modular bellhousing to mate an LS1 to just about any tranmission you can imsgine.

I agree with Andrew...go with the T56. It is very strong and you can easily get allof the correct parts.

I've heard that the LT1 bellhousing bolts a T56 to any old GM iron smallblock.
