Default Ls1 swap into 70 camaro?

How hard would an ls1 swap into a 1970 camaro be? Do they make kits to make things easier? Any information is much appreciated!

Yeah it seems like it would be pretty easy. My current 454 has a TH400, I think I would sell both and get an ls1 with an m6

im mostly wondering if theres any kits designed specifically for the swap

Me too, I've been searching through pricing of LS1s, Ls6s, Ls7s, etc..

I think I would sell my 454 and TH400 and get an ls1 with a t-56 and do full bolt ons + nitrous.

here's the BMR conversion kits as mentioned earlier.

I'm looking to get a used and in very good shape ls1 or would even consider something different as long as it is in great shape, low miles, and makes good power.

Consider building an LQ9 or LQ4, they are cheap and make good power

Post up some pics of your F bodies, I love the 2nd gen's =]

Do a search and read the FAQs in the stickys at the top of the forum. Use 2nd Gen Camaro or second Gen Camaro in your search terms. Quite a few of these swaps have been done. BRP and Speed and Performance (www.hotrodlane.cc) have parts, I believe ATS does also.

I'd rather go with an LS1 or LS6, I need to figure out pricing on both of those used and what I could sell my 454 w/TH400 for.
