I'm looking for a motor to swap into a Miata. I found a 2008 L92 from a hummer with 5k miles for $2000. This seems like a great deal. Any reason I should not consider this motor? Thoughts, concerns?

That is a great price for the motor. There are a couple things to consider.
If you want to keep the VVT then you have to run the truck crank shaft pulley and either the truck accessories, or space out the other accessory drives to match up with the crank pulley, or do something custom. I don't know home much engine bay room you have in a miata, I suspect not much, so that extra inch or so away from the block that the accessories sit could cause you problems.
The alternative is to do away with the VVT and swap out the cam, change the front cover, change crank pulley, and basically make it a LS3 engine. That way you can run whatever front accessory drive you want.
Of course you will probably have to swap out the pan for whatever fits in a miata and you will need to change intakes to either the new LS3 intake or the L76 car intake. They are basically the same so either should work.
If you decide to keep the VVT you can do a cam and spring swap and make 530hp with this motor. Contact Mast Motorsports for more info.
