I am in the middle of putting an 8.1 in a 70 Chevelle for my dad and I ran into a problem. I have been searching for a few hours and I cannot find a definite answer to whether a gen V/VI pan will fit it or if an aftermarket pan is available. Right now the steering is hitting the oil pan because it hangs to low and I am trying to find a solution without hacking up the pan. I tried searching on here but some say it will and some say it wont, any help would be much appreciated.

After researching some more on the web I am pretty certain that a gen V/VI oil pan won't work. So a cutting I will go.
