What did you use to cut the holes in the clear plastic? That's where I am at this point in my speedhut install. I was thinking a dremel, but wasn't sure if it would cut through or simply melt and make a mess.
I used a knife-shaped tip on a soldering iron to melt/cut the holes undersized, then I came back with a 1.5" or 2" sanding drum on my drill press to clean up the edges and smooth them out.

Default F-body brake question

I know you used the F-body brakes on the rear of your Chevelle. I'm doing the same on mine, my question is did you have to use a spacer between the backing plate and rear end? I've seen places that say you need a spacer and others that say you dont. Also did you figure anything out on the E- brake?

I made a spacer out of the old drum brake backing plate by trimming it down to fit the shape of the flange on the end of the axle tube. I haven't dove into the e-brake system yet, so if you figure out a good setup, I'll be interested to see it.

Thanks for posting that. It looks like it should be a good reference when I get around to working on the e-brake setup.

Awesome build thread! We are applying your resourcefulness of your donor car to our 67 LS1 swap.

Did you get the ebrake figured out? That is about all I have left to do other than getting a tune.

Chuck71.. I did use that other post as a guild to completing the e-Brake setup on my Nova. I was pretty simple, should be able to just make some tweeks to work on a A-Body setup. I did write up and post pictures on my Nova build thread of what I did.

Great build man, a lot of great useful information as well. Btw did you ever replace the E-brake rubber caps on the backing plates? If so do you have a part # for them?

No, I haven't dug into the e-brake setup yet. I'm currently working on installing new door panels, and it looks like the front suspension will be the next item on the list.

No, but those rubber caps will need replaced on mine as well. Let me know if you run across the part number.

So what I've found so far is part #12454994 is the complete rear ebrake assembly and we need part #8 if you google search that number you'll see the parts schematic.

A alternative part that needs some modification is off another GM car and is to thick so it would have to be sliced with a blade is Dorman 924-243.
Keep us updated if you find the right part #
