Default canadian 5.3 questions

just wondering if theres any major disadvantages to one? i plan on running a car intake manifold and H2o pump for what its worth. i also plan on contacting PSI and seeing what they suggest. thanks joe

The only disadvantage to running a 5.3 is that there are higher HP motors you could use instead. A 5.3 is a good running motor, nothing wrong with running one at all.

oh yeah i knowthat, i was more worried about sensor, and or issues with wiring being the motor is set up for kilometers

Not sure how you mean this.. all LS motors are metric everything, the only difference between a Canadian and American donor vehicle is the range/unit system that is printed on the speedo/gauge cluster.. computer and sensors are all the same

I'm as confused as everyone else,makes no difference which factory made your 5.3,they are pretty much identical thanks to modern automation and quality control.

A 5.3 is a 5.3. There were slight differences in the O2S wiring from 01-03, but thats about it. Late model engines got 243 heads and a few other minor changes.
