wow, the geniuses never stop amazing me. let me brake it down for you. yes , if you type that in you will indeed get hits. one of wich is the video i posted a link too (shocking, i know). but if you learn to read you will see where you quoted me, and in that quote i said i could not find any "info".

now since you couldn't understand that before, i will explain it. the word "info" is a slang term, short for ..........information!

and thank you for the wealth of "info" you have shared.

parish8, i did not realize you hung out here, cool. what i was wondering was 2 things.

1 i was curious as to how hard it is to stuff an ls into a fairmont (i found only one thread started by someone doing this and they never added to it).

and 2 i was wondering about the engine setup. my friend and i just dropped a 5.3 in an s-10 and have recently added a good size turbo. we have an 8 pound waste gate and have hit 8 psi with it. but...... we have only so far added 37 pound injectors. i also bought hp tuners so we can start tuneing it (as well as my mustang w/ and ls1). i was really looking for some info on the long block. the video says its bone stock? but it handles the boost fine? when we hit 8 psi it runs lean hard. so im htinking we need to look into a speed density tune and bet a 2 bar map. it looks like your running a speed density tune as well. i was wondering if it runs well on the street too?

thanks i appreciate any help you can throw this way.

we are running a stand along computer. you can copy us or run the stock one. you can run the stock one in speed density or with the maf but the maf will run out pretty quick. at 8psi the maf is great. not too much above that it gets more dificult to deal with. i dont know much about tuning with the stock computer.

stock longblock. the only thing we did to the engine was valve springs and a z06 cam. heads and pan have never been off. we got the engine for $250, it had been sitting in the corner of a guys garage for over a year and we dont know the year or miles.

we are working on a 85 mustang. we used the aje front suspension stuff. an ls1 bolted right in with that set up along with the tranny mount. a fairmont is probably the same but on our fairmont we just welded in our own mounts. with the aje stuff there is a ton of room for whatever you want to do. keeping the stock front end there is still room but nothing like the aje front end.

here are some pics of the stang >> http://www.neufamily.org/images/mikesstanggallery/

and a pile from the fairmont build but they got out of order somehow >> http://www.neufamily.org/images/fairmontfullgallery/

i used the aje k-member on my stang as well. put about 100 miles on it so far.

on the fairmont though....other than the cam an springs nothing else is diff? no methonal inj or anyhting? bigger injectors?

the reason i ask, like i said we are useing a 5.3 w/ a good turbo and i was just worried about it staying together and makeing good power. so i guess we just have to learn how to tune and we should be ok.

and i really dig the fairmont, i decided im going to do a 3rd ls swap but i havent decided what to put one in yet. i just dont know if i want to go big an confortable like a chevelle or small and fast like a chevette. but thanks for the answers.
