Default Truck oil pan question.

I am swapping an LQ4 into my 95 formula keeping the stock LT1 K-member and was just wondering why the truck pan will not work I tried a search but no info there everyone just swaps the pans I am by no means against using the pan but if I can save some $$ and keep the truck pan I would like to. My car is stock height and I have all the tools and metal to either cut the K-member and box it or cut the pan and weld it if possible and one have any suggestions other then just by the f-body pan.

I'm not sure about the k-member clearance on your car but I imagine the 1st problem would be how low the truck pan will sit, even on a stock-height camaro. I would imagine that an F-body ls1 pan would fit.. (not sure how different LT and LS camaro k-members are??)

NAH... I would say no. You need a F-body pan or CTS pan

We are putting 5.3L in a 5.0 stang and they sit up higher than a F-body. And the pan is really close on the 5.0 stang.
