Default 84 camaro lsx swap

Well figured I haven't posted any pics yet of my swap. So here's a few of the car and the drivetrain.

ugly yellow side marker and faded front turn signals are both gone now with clear ebay housings that look 100x's better.

drivers side header completed that I hand made out of a ls1 header flange and some hooker 1 3/4" u-bends

here's your basic baby cam only engine with msd 6010 box and a carb on top.

Tranny is a TH350 and have a moser 9" out back. Tires are 28" M/T skinnies up front and 28x12.50 ET streets out back.

finally finished both sides today and painted them in VHT header paint.
drivers side installed from behind

both headers installed....only .5" lower than the oil pan, should be perfect for ground clearance.

both headers from behind

passenger side header, now this is what I call tucked perfectly. .25" clearance all around the collector flange.

I would never get remotely close out of the car for what I've already sunk into it otherwise I'd be rocking a 70 nova SS by now.

Ya once it's all mocked up I'll be tearing it back down to clean up the engine bay to make it look perfect. Hiding all these wires will be fun no doubt.

Finally fired it up the other day, still have lots ahead to finish but thankfully I didn't have any issues with the msd box like others have had. New battery, 0 gauge wire throughout and a new starter probably didn't hurt either

Nice work on your headers. Must be nice to be able to build things to your specs. I was wondering if the hawk headers would work with your setup? Beautiful car.

stock heads off the motor and a 224 cam IIRC.

ya sure the hawk headers would work if I wanted to spend close to a grand with shipping for headers that may or may not tuck up as high as the ones I made since I moved the motor back and down slightly. I have under $300 in these headers, so I'm happy with my investment and fitment. If 1 7/8" headers become available then I may sell these off for them.

What did you do for a fuel pump? This is pretty much the same thing I want to do but I want to use an LM7. What did you use for the motor mounts?

i have a magnafuel pump and regulator from all my other carb projects. Motor mounts I bought the trans dapt conversion plates but they were WAY off so I had to cut and weld up my moroso solid mounts to make them work. Probably were off at least 2" from where the motor ended up.

TH350 long tailshaft with a big stall, I have a TH400 waiting in the garage fresh in case I burn up the TH350.
