Its a guy i know down in Symrna. He did the body work when i use to have the body kit on the truck...you can see in some of the pics. He did a great job on molding it into the body. I alreayd paid him to do the body work and paid for the paint. SO all i have to do is drop it off and let him spray it.

Though he is slow with his work due to being like 2 yrs older than me, having three kids, a wife, and 2 jobs on top of the painting thing. So if he really cant do it, i will let you know. But if he can....any chance we can use taht paint booth, lol

no picture update here, but i finally got down to work on the truck again today. First of all, I should have the motor back to be reassembled mid next week, so we are right on schedule.

So as for the progress today, the guys shop that we did the swap at has a parts cleaner stations that flows a very good parts cleaner and has a scrubber at the end and i went to town on part of the transfer case that had a **** ton of grime. Also did the a/c compressor, the PS mounting bracket, the big *** Alternator bracket, the flywheel, the starter, and the harmonic balancer. Than i took all the bolts and took the wire wheel he ahs and cleaned the threads up of the rust and dirt.

Plans are to now blast the ALT. bracket, PS bracket, A/c compressor, the Alternator and than paint all them in flat black to match the color the engine block will be painted.

So hope to get pics of the motor when it comes back fromt he machine shop and than of the progress.

Ok i got some good news, some better news, and just some news....

First off, i went to see how much to powdercoat some parts on the motor and the price was great, so i am dropping the intake, the throttle body and the valve covers off on Monday to have them done.

Second, is that I found out that i am spending 200 more bux on the rebuild! yeah! lol, now we are replacing all the connecting rods and not remachining all the decent ones. So the motor wont have anything old.

Third, I got a call and weds. of next week, we are picking up the motor fromt he machine shop!! So after that, we are preping the block, and the other pieces that i mentioned above in another post and than i am painting them flat black. After that, REASSEMBLE TIME!! And that should only take a few days to do and than we move on to replacing the clutch and than the motor is ready to go back in!

Though, i still need to get new front shocks upfront that would be more stiff, but not terrible on the ride, and than working on getting rear done up.

So i am still shooting for 3 weeks after next weds....so April 1st or that weekend, I hope to have the truck up and running.

Pics will come on weds. when we pick the motor up. Thank for reading!

Nice build Justin, six speed is where its at! I was wondering if the rear swap was a smooth operation as far as e-brake cables and driveshaft length. Also is yours the 7.5 or 8.5 ring gear?

thanks man, yea the 6th speed is def. a sweet tranny, lol

but on s10forum, theres a thread about how to make the ebrake work. If i get time and all, i can take a picture of how it is on mine if i have the time.

But the new rear is a 8.5.
