Default 1994 Mustang Gt Swap

Ok ok, here we go. I am looking to swap an ls based motor into my stang. I have a friend that has a factory 4.6l k-member I am going to use. I also have another friend who has 4.6l mounts adapted for an LS1. My question(s): Can I use these motor mounts w/ a 5.3l truck motor? Will the truck accessory belt stuff from a 5.3l clear everything in the mustang?

Any info MUCH appreciated. I have a ton of threads I have searched over and over, and its just hard to gather info sometimes. Thank you!

The mounts should work fine, and I think the accessories should clear too. Hood clearance with those brackets might be an issue though.

Hmmm....I'm debating the 5.3 from a truck or just picking up an ls1/trans pullout from an f-body...

The mounts wont work without an adapter plate 5.3s dont have the extra hole like ls1. I am doing the same thing I made an adapter using 1/4" plate,

Yea, thats what I was afraid of...this whole project is kind of up in the air. I'm really leaning towards an ls1/4l60e pullout now...

Take your time, the ls1 offers plenty more power vs the 5.3, there are always ls1's for sale so so in the parts for sale or craigs list and find your parts.

I think this is a cool swap, and am kinda surprised there isn't more ready info on it, double cheap someone hasn't published a book on this, there will be great tips in a complete book if there is one, plus it would save a ton of time, money and headache, good luck and be sure to post pics throughout the build.

The adapter wasn't a big deal it just bolts between the mount and block to bolt the back hole to. I am using a 5.3 because it was cheap, but if you could find a good ls1 it would be a better way to go.

Yea, I understand the adapter isn't that big of a deal, but I think I'm going to just go LS1 at this point. On another note, I got the blown 5.0 and trans outta the car tonight!

I have a 97 that I want to do this swap too myself and I have several questions but the information is kinda hard to find on here. Do you have to run an automatic tranny or can you adapt a LS based t56 to a sn95 ? 2 more questions guages and wiring harness any simple tricks to solve these problems ?

Any one care to comment on if the swap would be just as easy or harder using a 94/95 v6 mustang to start with? I know I'd need to swap the rear end, but just for engine/tranny/wiring purposes (or anything else I might be forgetting)? Figure since I don't have a car yet, why not go inexpensive yet clean shell.

Only advantage I see w/ buying a v8 sn95 is the 8.8 rear.

Im thinking of putting the ls1 in a 2000 mustang v6. Im going to start by getting the aje racing k memeber for 4.6 and buing the mounts for it.

my adapter plates for a lq4 truck motor. I used a qa1 4.6 k member and solid 4.6 mounts.

I think for the extra displacement and price, the 6.0 is the way to go.

Im picking up a clean 95v6 with a blown motor from a friend of a friend for $200 bucks. I also got a 5.3 with a carbed intake already heads and all for $300. Now I need front assesories and MSD 2010 box. As soon as I pick up the car and get my townhome ill post pics and will need some help figuring this chit out.
