Default what wiring harness and PCM can be used?

Looking at a DBW 6.0 complete but want to know if I can run it with a 5.3 PCM and 5.3 harness with a cable style TB instead of the DBW. the plan is to put a cable TB on it.

We have access to HPT so the tuning is easy.

Yes, as long as the throttle body is the same type as what your 5.3 had. Most are, but there are 2000-2001 tahoes and yukon 5.3 engines which were DBW, and used a different throttle body than the 2003-2007 (old body style) Gen III truck stuff, which is more common. The 00-01 tahoe and yukon throttle bodys almost resemble the corvette DBW throttle body, but with the motor assembly on the opposite side and different connectors. Other than that, your harness and PCM should interchange, as long as everything is 2003-up truck or SUV. Only your 02 sensor connectors might be different depending on the APP and year

Yea, just make sure that you run the injectors that came with the 6.0 if your using the 5.3 intake, or the whole 6.0 intake with your cable 5.3 TB on it. The 6.0's have a little bit bigger injector than the 4.8/5.3. Other than that, should have no problems. The truck intake and throttle bodies were all the same for 4.8 5.3 and 6.0.

So we would just take the "2001" Wiring harness from a 5.3 and the TB from same vehicle and put it to the 6.0 after replacing the TB and we are good to roll, other than the tuning.

Watch out for the crank sensor color. I don`t know what year your 6.0L is but the 2001 5.3l harness was made for the old style black sensor......if your 6.0l had a gray sensor body they it is the newer sensor and the old computer will not work.

Yea, and use the "5.3" computer that interfaces with the cable throttle harness (will be a RED / BLUE style connector) and flash that with a cable throttle 6.0 truck tune to get you started. I put a 2006 LQ9 6.0 out or a silverado SS in my dads 2000 single cab short bed Silverado, kept the intake of the 4.8 because it had to retain the EGR and the send-return fuel line to keep the truck California smog legal. Basically, put the 6.0 in with the 4.8 intake, throttle body and exhaust manifolds to keep all smog components from that year truck intact. Swapped the 4.8 injectors for the 6.0 ones. Flashed the computer with a 6.0 cable throttle profile, and then played with the injector scaling to get the STFT and LTFT trims in line and the Power enrichment to command WOT AFR where it was happy. Runs great, easy swap
