Carbed setup guys, what tranny are you running?
I would love to get a T56, but I think the cost would put me over my budget quite a bit. After researching going with a 4L60E, it seems it would be just as expensive due to having to buy the $700 TCI TCU.
Do I just bite the bullet and start savings my pennies for a T56, or is there a way to put a tranny behind a 6.0 that won't cost $1500-2000?

I am using a rebuilt TH400 with a 3500 ACC Stall and hopefully a nice shift kit
I think if you are going carb you are going for simplicity or raw power, so the old schools trannies are used. When you want drivability you keep the EFI and use a late model overdrive. I guess you could always use a 700R4 or a 2004R

i guess you have to fig out if you want overdrive or not-if not, a turbo 350 or 400 is ideal
if overdrive, then whether computer operated or not
the 200R seems to be a better choice over a 700R, then its a choice of a 4l60e or 4l80e, diff in weight and size
i started out with a switch/pitch, old school dual stall turbo 400, but really wanted overdrive, so i got a 4l80e, made it man. shift to save buying a computer, didnt like going racheting thru 3 gears every time i stopped, so i got another valve body, got a deal on a Compushift controller(easy to use/setup) and love it-65 MPH, 2K RPM, sure quites down the Flowmasters, lol
ya, i spent a lot of money, in the long run a 350 or 400 with a good converter would have been wallet friendly-again, use, horsepower, first gear ratio, etc comes into play-im not a trans tech, but i do my own stuff, so i save a ton of bucks that way, offsets the parts price
if i were starting from scratch right now, 200R, no computer, lighter, lots of upgrade parts, someone even advertises it for a 572 B/B engine, so they can be made tough

I am running a TH350 with 3000 stall Non locking.
Just swapped to a 3500 stall. No new times yet.
You need to purchase adapter/spacer (about 50 bucks) and it your choice to swap flywheels. many use longer flywheel bolts. If you upgrade flywheel go with HUGHES about 120 dollars over TCI (TCI is pricey)

What all is involved as far as adapters to mate the 5.3 or 6.0 to a Th-350?
Is it a different converter, different flexplate, or some sort of adaptor?
And, any links to where to get the parts?
I have a possible chance to get a 40,000 mile 5.3L, I know that I will have to either make motor mounts or purchase them, as well as make the harness a standalone, but I am at a loss as to what to do about mating the motor to the turbo 350 trans I have.
Oh, forgot, this would all be going into a 70 camaro.
