Default Heater hose outlet fittings

Does anyone know the pipe thread size that you would tap the heater outlets on the water pump once you take the factory nipples off. I know I've heard of someone doing this but I cant find where. Thanks

The holes are 5/8 and 3/4 I plugged them with freeze plugs. I couldnt figure a way to tap the 3/4 one. Good luck.

I remember someone posting the tap sizes recently. I know the one was 1/2, but i forget what the other was

Here is one option for moving the taps to the water pump. Go to the bottom of the page

I accidentally pulled a heater hose end out of my stock LS1 water pump. Does anybody have one laying around they could send me, or does anybody know where I can get a new hose end?

The pump outlet is 3/8 NPT, the return is 1/2" NPT.

Accidentally? Man, if only you knew how hard I had to work to get mine out... Totally destroyed both fittings and almost destroyed the freakin' pump! If you tap them, there are hose barbs available that will screw in. I'd bet that part is only available by buying the whole pump!

The best way to get anything like this out is to insert a punch about the same size as the I.D and use some vise grips to work it out, might have to use a little heat on them. Thanks for all the input guys. Im going to try pulling them out later today.

I pulled out factory fittings with a slide hammer after drilling holes at end to attach the puller. Holes were tapped with 1/2 and 3/8 inch npt taps.

The two "nipples" on the pump are 5/8" outlet, 3/4" inlet (these are the heater hose sizes). So, tap the outlet 3/8NPT (.578 tap drill) for a finished thread OD of .675" and tap the inlet 1/2NPT (.703 tap drill) for a finished thread OD of .840".
