89 240sx swap help

Default 89 240sx swap help

alright so I bought a 5.3 to swap into my 240sx. it turned out needing to be rebuilt(what looks like pistons scraping the walls). I'm on a pretty tight budget so I thought hard and had a Idea. tell me if this makes sense. What if I sell the 5.3 shortblock to someone whos willing to rebuild. Buy an early 6.0 and swap on he 5.3 heads, ls6 valvetrain, and tr224 cam that I already have. And then use a t56 for a lt1, which seem to be much less expensive than the ls1. My main concerns are, if the 6.0 block has the recess that prevents using the mls head gasket. Also an early 6.0 should be setup to run the earlier style chevy tranny(lt1) with thelonger rear crank flange. Please let me know what you think. thanks for looking

I'm pretty sure flywheel necessary for the LT1 T56 will not bolt up. Your also going to need a GTO oil pan for the swap.

if u can find someone to trade, do it! lol way better idea less work for u and more motor and im pretty sure that tranny idea isnt going to work

I've already got the gto pan and ls1 intake and accessories. so far thats two down for the tranny, any body know for sure? I thought the 6.0 and 4.8s that came with the longer flange were that way so the 6.0 in the 2500 would work with an older 4l80 and the 4.8 with the five speed that came in the trucks
