LS1 in a 82 bmw 320i
i have an 82 bmw 320i and the little 1.8 just isnt doing it for me
i was wondering how hard it would be to put an ls1 with a six speed in it?
i mean i know i can do it but does anyone know of someone doing before?
any advice?

try the search function... i have seen a couple of e30´s with ls1 power so it is possible.. and it is lighter than the 320+ straight 6 so the car is up for it....
but is it a 318 (4 cyl) or a 320 (6 cyl)???

I believe the E21 has an even smaller engine bay than an E30 and its very tight in an E30 but it would be cool though. The E21 chassis is allot weaker too so allot of reinforcement would in order...

We've already done an E30 with LS1 and T56. See:

If you've got an E21, you better get creative. Our swap cost about 8k for motor, parts, welder, hoist, tools, etc
