Default Engine starts but won't stay running

Got everything hooked up, disabled VATS using EFI live and started the engine. Just starts then dies. Its a 5.3l from a 2000 silverado.

Anyone else had this problem?

Double check the VATS
make sure the grounds are good. the harnless behind the head and the pcm grounds

Does it die right after you let the key return to run from the start position ?.. if yes, make sure that the pcm pin 12+ ign stays hot while cranking and after you let it off.

What is the fuel pressure as you get prime, and that it stay within range as you start and runs (or attempts to stay running)

Yeah, dies as soon as I let it go back to run. I'll check the wiring and make sure I'm not missing anything.

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge so I'm not sure how much pressure there is. I did notice that after it dies and the key goes back to run the pump does the prime sequence again.

what car are you putting the engine into ?...

If this is a 60's or 70's gm.. there is a wire that feels the coil from the starter to add a full 12+volts on starting and then cut out... if the car came with a resistor block to lower the voltage down from 12+volts. that is not one of the wire to use...

It's in a 69 camaro. I did replace the resistor wire with regular wire for all of the ign + connections. I've got the fuel pump wired through a relay and I think that is how it should be.

Was missing a fuse on one of the ign + wires.

So now it starts runs to about 5k rpm and surges (very short duration surging).

Any thoughts?

Figured it out!!! The throttle stop tab was bent and holding the throttle open. I fixed the tab and now it's running and learning to idle again. Woohoo!

Thanks for the help!
