Default 383 Sonoma goes 10.46.

Finally finished the LS swap on the truck, and took it to the track. First night out with it, it went a best of 10.50 with no tuning. On Friday night it went a best of 10.46@126.99 and then on the next pass lost second gear in the trans. It did have a 1.42 60' off the foot brake. I have not had a chance to adjust the Caltracs yet, so we can't leave off the brake. With some tuning I think it will go 10.20's, and then we spray it!!!!!! The combo is a 383 with Dart 225's, Victor Jr, 950HP carb, 234,238 .598,.605 cam, 4400 conv. with a TH350, 8.5" rear, and Caltracs.

I'm putting together an 82 S10 standard cab short bed. I have an LS1 full ported heads, valve job decked .030. I had to fly cut the piston's to clear the valves with the T-Rex cam. Carb'd intake set up with a 850 holley, 3800 stall TH-400 built and a 9in. with 5.00gears and a spool 28in. tall tires weld pro stars. I have done about everything to lighten it up and still keep it legal on the street. Oh spraying it with a 200hp shot with a stand alone system on 116. I hope it runs in the 10's or better I will probably have to change the gears to run the 1/4 tho.

Who flycut your pistons? I might need to do this because of the larger l92 intake valves an cam. Im not sure if im up to the challenge.

Onequikss, did you lay down that 1.42 60' with leaf springs and caltracs only? What tires were you on? If so, that is the most ridiculous launch I have ever heard of.

Really nice truck too.

The suspension on the truck is 3" belltech dropped leafs with a 1" block, caltracs, rancho9000 shocks and lakewood 90/10's in the front. The tires are 275/60/15 Hoosier drag radials. I have some more chassis tuning to do to it before it will leave on the brake, but I think it will go 1.35-1.37 60's.

Thanks to all for the comments.

What's the weight of your truck? Nice times and that thing will move out when the spray comes.

Haha,

Way to show up all the guys who think you need to have tubs and a 4-link to get any kind of traction in an S10.

They work a lot better than people think. The last combo in the truck had a conventional small block with a 150 shot and went 1.48 with homemade traction bars.

On the Caltracs, are you using the upper or lower set of (front bar mount) holes? Have you tried both?
