Default Ls2 gm performance harness oil pressure

I am putting an ls2 in a 66 chevy ii. The gm wire harness plugs right into the existing oil pressure sender behind the intake. This is where i was planning on running a mechanical gauge out of. What is my next best solution?

to my knowledge, most gm factory wire harness's and computers do not use that as an input to the pcm. I'm sure it depends on year, as some models do use this as a pcm input. But most use it just for the oil pressure gauge.

If your harness and pcm do not need that input then you can pull the sensor and put in a mechanical with no issues. again it depends on what harness you started with and any tuning you did to the pcm. we need more information to really tell you what you should do.

You could make up a tee..... The metric thread size into the engine is M16 x 1.5. Shown installed on LS3 crate engine.

Unless your using the donner BCM and Dash/Gauges, As a stand alone harness and setup, you don't need the input from that oil sensor, you use your after market gauge or the Chevy II' sender to feed input to the factory gauge or idiot light, I did from my idiot Light and used the bypass page for the AutoMeter Gauge.

Is that tee something you made up or does someone make it?

As mentioned, I would just not use factory sensor. The pcm does not use it to
change anything or disable fuel pump if no press etc.
You could also use oil cooler line access above oil filter. Get cover with w boss for line and run from here.

Yes, it's custom made from aluminum round stock w/ a hex on the end. Approx 2.25"lg. Allows sensor for oil pressure gage, idiot light, and sensor to crate motor controller.

A lot of people put their pressure sender on the oil filter bypass line, ala F body.
