I agree, it is part of history and one of the many reason that the import cars have not reached the same level of collectable status is that the Tuner communitiy has butchered and modified all of the collectable cars into Bling Bling Tuner or drift cars..

There is MotoringJStyle.com now.. and that is a good thing for the Japanese imports. Find a beater to work on !

I have to agree. It is your car and you can do what you want with it but be considerate to your fellow car guy who may appreciate that type of car in that condition. It would have been much easier for me to modify a Grand National or T-type instead of my Regal (which is a clone of a t-type) but I didn't want to be responsible for destroying a collectible piece of history.

That car will never be worth anything.

Give it a V8 and make it a real car.

Gonna be a pretty good trick fitting an LS motor in that thing. I wouldn't do it if you end up sitting in the back seat.

I'm all for cutting up honduh's but if you have a mid-late 70's honda in mint shape, I would find a carcass to do your build instead!! Just my $0.02

Either way, I'm interested to see how it all fits!! Good Luck

just so we are clear that is not the exact car! the car i will be starting with is exactly the same ,color and all . its been sitting in my inlaws yard for over 10 years untouched so the paint is oxidized but i think it will clean up nice and if i can get it close to as nice as the one in the pic it should be one hell of a sleeper i want it to look as close to that pic as possible

I think what everyone is trying to say here is dont cut up a mint car for a project. Find one that is beat up to cut on. Same way you wouldnt cut up a numbers matching 427 split window vette to make it a drag car...

Only the hemis and superbees. Different class of car.

For example, a 427 split window vette would probably be in the same class price wise as a superbee. But since GM didn't offer a big block in 63, that would mean someone made the original better.

The biggest headache in any hot rod project is dealing with rust. Mint cars make the best swap candidates.

Cut-r-up and make it better.

Oops you got me my vette facts are a little mixed up there. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about cutting up mint cars though.

+1!! Look at all the cut up Z28, SS, WS6, Firehawk's and Formula's there are on this site. I bet a low mile Firehawk, WS6 or SS would bring more than that thing forever, and I wonder how many are whored out by now?? lol. It could be a cool car... please give it another chance at life. hahaha.
