Default F-Body vs Vette A/C pulleys

I noticed that the F-bodies and GTO use an idler pulley and a tensioner on the A/C belt but the Vette only uses the tensioner pulley. Does anyone know why?

For that answer, your most likely going to have to ask GM and the Design and Research techs that most likely tested it for hundreds of hours before they release the design.
