does ls1 ac compressor take straight 12v or resisted?

wiring a switch to the ac compressor, should it be straight 12volt power or does it need to be resisted down?

There are two wires going to the GM LS1 compressor. Is one a ground and the other hot or ? Also, how much current does the compressor clutch actually draw? What size fuse is needed?

Yes one is ground the other is 12 volt. A 20 amp fuse is called for.use a relay
