Default late model radiator in a 1st gen. Camaro

Has anyone used a 4th gen. Camaro or newer GTO radiator in a 1st gen. Camaro while doing an LSx swap? I have an LS2 out of a GTO in my 1968 Camaro and have eread that they can be used, but I have not seen anyone that actually has done this.
Initially trying to fit it, the battery tray is in the way. How do you get around this?

thanks,

67rsss used a 4th gen Camaro radiator, and still has his battery under the hood.

Here's his build thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...67-camaro.html

To me, a radiator is a radiator (for the most parts)... as long as it will phyically fit and connect up ok. it will work. Some just better than others.

Yes the outlet/inlets maybe in different location and it may have more cores or not, or that it is a duel past radiator.. but gen 1 or gen 4. its job is to just cool the engine (and trans?)

So if you can use the radiator from the original donner car.. no reason it will not work. just a bit of 2 cents..

Default radiator

I just finished a 69 w/ ls6, used the radiator/condenser and factory 02 fan assembly as a unit. had to cut the opening to insure adequite air flow. also built mounts top and bottom, very simple, nice modular install with very little fuss. and CHEAP! salvage yard parts! Clean up the gap @ the top of the radiator ( looking down) with a rubber gasket from a H body gm car( lesabre, park ave, bonneville etc) nice look.
I did have to move my battery to the trunk, the a/c condensor adds some thickness to the install that innterferes w/ the battery box.
