Default 1965 El Camino

I've done some searching on here and can't find what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Anyway, I've got a 1965 El Camino that I'm wanting to do a LSX swap into as soon as possible. Where can I get mounts? Will I have any fitment issues with the T56? Will I need to get a certain type of headers to clear the engine bay?
Thanks in advance for all replies.

There is a sticky above for many 64-72 A-body swaps. Find the earlier years and click away.

Many of the vendors market adapters plates for the mounts. Check out BRP Hot Rods, they sell complete kits.

T56.. might have to do Firewall and Trans Tunnel modification, as the T56 and the 4L80e are very large transmission. the 4L60 and many of the older transmssion (M2x, TH350, 200R4 and 700R4) will fit without too much of a problem.

You can try many of the F-Body configured headers or get some of the Swap headers from Hooker, Edelbrock, etc.. BRP also markets some swap headers that will work.

Check out some of the A-body swap in the top FAQ for A-Body swaps.. should answer 99% of your questions...

Thanks a lot fellas.

I'm not going to be doing the swap myself cause I'm stationed in Germany and the truck is in Oklahoma. But I want to get it done ASAP so I can get it shipped over here.
