Default Truck throttle body location vs. F-Body throttle body location

I know the truck intake supposedly sets the throttle body further back (as well as further up, obviously). Anyone know how much further back? Anyone got both style intakes laying around and could measure it for me?

Thanks,
Richard

I don't think it sets it further back..I've looked at my truck and car side by side and it looked the same. I may be wrong but it looked the same to me.

Could be. I had an LS1 intake here but gave it away. Clearance in front of the TB is going to be the determining factor in whether or not I recess the firewall and set the motor back.

just measured mine... it's about 1 3/4 inches back, and about 3 1/2 inches up.

1-3/4" further back than the car intake? If so, that's a big help to me.

Yeah, I measured from the waterpump housing on both. The LS1 throttle body hangs over the pulley. I originally set my car up for a 5.3, then switched to the Ls1 and had to do some creative work to the air intake tube.

Thanks for taking the time to measure both of them. It's not pretty but the truck intake has a few plusses when you can use it.
