Default pro flo intake should I cut my hood?

Love the looks and horsepower potential of this intake. fit and finish very dissapointed with edelbrock. So will not fit 69 camaro with out modifications.

ouch. i have to cut the stock air cleaner opening on my cowl hood so i can fit a 14'' air cleaner on my victor jr. with a holley carb. my LS1 sits too forward.

unless you want an outlaw 4'' glass hood. looks like your only option.

I would look first to lowering the motor, then if your still too high I would possibly cut the neck on intake and angle it down some more vs cutting the hood.

Yes I agreed motor siting a little high but sit happy on the cradle and tranny. I am working on lowering the motor. My motor plates are S&P one with a prothane motor mount, was looking at the enegy suspensions a looks king of smaller and have a backing plate that can be removed. Need an inch of space.
Thanks for the replies

I made my own mounts out of 1/4 inch plate and stock small block chevy engine mounts and factory tall frame mounts. The engine sat low enough to run a truck intake and the hood closed no problem.I beleive the edlebrock intake is the same height as a truck intake.

Lower the motor, keep the intake.

i run the hooker mounts and the engine is as far back and low as possible. that would help you. i "think" you can run the ls1 intake backwards. that may help you out.

I agree. Between those two I think you would get it to fit.

For the Chevelle guys this intake fits under the stock hood fwiw.

I would honestly make the investment to go dry sump before I poked it out the hood and I'm not the type to go throwing money around to have the latest greatest. That's how much a smooth hood is worth to me. My $.02

Looks like you could cut top ear off that intake and gain 1/2 or better throttle body is flat on top anyway. Good luck please update .
