Default Is A LS1 Throttle Body Block-Off Necessary???

On a 2001 F-Body LS1 throttle-body, is blocking off the ends of the pass-through heating tube, for cold motor start-ups, really necessary? This is'nt a potential source of a vacuum leak, is it? (I have the usual reroute to the radiator)Thanks

It's just a straight-through channel, does not see
intake air. I cut the whole boss off mine, nipples
and casting, with a hacksaw for clearance.

And that's not for cold starts... it's to prevent icing in cold weather.

So you left the holes open or siliconed for appearance purposes?

I cut the whole thing off completely. It interfered with my Magnacharger water in / outs.
