Default th400 vac hookup

whats the best place to run the vac line for the th400 to engine

to what kind of manifold? If it's an LS1/LS6 manifold, I'd use the vacuum line that ran to the AC controls in the F-body.

its a ls1 and in my 89 mustang. Can i use one of the vac line that are behind the thottle body

You need manifold vacuum. Starts high and drops as you open the throttle blades. That is how the modulator in the transmission knows engine load and increases line pressure. If you use a vacuum gauge it would be easy to find. Anything near or adjacent to and including the power brake hose would work.

Just tee into the vacuum brake hose.

does this line only have to do with the shifting of the trans, or will it make it stall or slip bad in 1st gear
