Default LS6 Intake manifold and cable TB on LS2 with E40 PCM

Is there any way to make this work with the E40 and stay cable TB?

I have asked around to several tuners and everyone says either go DBW from a C5 Vette or get a E38 PCM.

I'm also wondering if the sensors in the LS6 intake manifold are compatible with the E40.

I just bought a E40 and now I'm feeling like I made a mistake... *kicks dirt*

Short answer: no.

E40 is for 24X reluctor, 1X cam, electronic throttle.

E38 is for 58X reluctor, 4X cam, electronic throttle.

If you have a 24X engine, at least you can drop back to an LS1 style PCM and go cable throttle.

OK thanks... now when you say LS1 style is there any specific PN I should look for? (engine is 24x)

12200411 is the most common (01-02)
9354896 will also work (99-00)

You could also look into a 04 GTO setup.

Or, you could just get the LS2 manifold and throttle body and run DBW. I guess it is all up to you. Might want to price that option out as well.

Since I have the LS6 manifold and TB it just kinda makes sense at this point to sell the ls2 PCM and retrofit the F body harness/PCM into me set-up. If I was to go back to DBW I need an intake, TB and pedal assembly. To make what I have work it;s simply a matter of a different PCM.... I thought about DBW

Andrew,

If it was mine to do, I would keep the E-40 and get a LS2 intake and TB. You will make more power with the LS2 intake and the bigger TB. Making the LS1 ECM work with the LS2 can be done, but a custom harness needs to be made to adapt the LS1 ECM to the sensors on the LS2. Sensors are in different places, and in a lot of cases, use different plugs. I love the DBW setup on my LS2's. I'll bet that you end up coming out cheaper than converting to a LS1 ECM.

The LS2 intake is as bad as the LS1. He will lose power going from an LS6 intake to a LS2.

Yeah I'm sticking with the LS6 intake for sure.
