Cam question: Carbed LQ4 w/ 5.3 heads
I posted this in the internal gen 3 section, but apparently nobody wants to answer any questions over there, so I'll post it here...
Friend of mine is swapping an LQ4 in an 80's caprice and is curious as to cam shaft selection. He's goign to be runnign a Th400, 3500 stall, and will be using the TSP 5.3 stage 2.5 heads, milled .015. From what I gather, that's approx 10.6:1 comression. He's an old school guy, messing with SBC a lot. He wanted me to ask the cam guys on here what they thought of a 230/234 on 108+2. I calculated this to come out to be 16 degrees of overlap, quite aggressive if you ask me. Does he have enough compression to run that much overlap?
