Default oil pressure gauge

im wanting to run a mechanical oil pressure gauge. My question is im leaving the car injected, so does the computer need a signal from the factory press. gauge or can I just remove it and use autometers adapter for a mechanical gauge?

remove it...the ECM doesn't use it at all, its just in the factory harness on its way to the factory gauge. Take it out, install adapter and your sending unit and have a nice day

great thats what i wanted to hear. I had seen somewhere that someone was running a banjo style fitting for the mechanical gauge and had the factory sensor on top.
