Default wont stay running - wiring issue?

FYI
2002 LS1 out of WS6/T56 going into 240sx

1-wire alternator - can that just go to the dummy light in the cluster, and no other place, right?

my vats should've been programed out,
but what would happen if it isn't?
cut power to fuel pump? would it cut spark?
would it be something I can see with OBD2 scanner?

Car starts, and dies within a second or two.
Going to be checking and rechecking all the connections tomorrow.

Can you put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if the fuel pump is dying to cause it to stall?? Trouble light on the fuse for the FP?? If the pump is dying that sounds like a VATS thing I think, but you think its tuned out.

Do you got enough battery charge?? Try putting the charger on it while starting it, and make sure you got lots of grounds done up. Engine to battery, engine to frame, engine to body, battery to frame, some even say trans to frame/body. And your harness grounds too, there is a few of those.

Should have been, this is the key statement. I'd double check that. There's been many people on here have the same problem, and it's turned out to be VATS. It will do exactly what you described if it's not turned off.

well, just double checked the fuel pump relay
stays on when cranking and running, so that would suggest VATS is off
but it still won't stay running.

Again, that 1 wire on the alt plug, can that just go to the battery light in the cluster, no other place, right?

I've only ever seen 2 things cause that:

1. VATS
2. MAF

If the MAF has been eliminated in the tune incorrectly, it will cause exactly what you describe here. Obviously, VATS will also do that.

well, Vats cuts only fuel right?
I get nice 60psi of fuel at all times.

How would I go about troubleshooting if its a MAF issue?
I'm open to pretty much anything at this point

seems to me like its cutting spark and killing the engine.
what would cause that??

yep, turned out to be VATS
Speed Inc to the rescue

Apparently, when VATS cuts fuel, it cuts injectors, not fuel pump.
Thanks for clearing that up G-body.

It runs perfect now
