Default Rear Differential Mystery?

Gents,

I purchased a rear end which was supposedly removed from a 69 SS Camaro with multi-leafs. I know it is a 10 bolt and it looks to be a GM, however upon further investigation I am pretty sure its not a first gen Camaro rear as none of the casting or axle code match up. I am trying to determine what this thing is in order to confirm the dimensions and axle ratio, but I cannot find anything that matches up?

The passenger side axle housing has the numbers 2FB0124 and the casting number is 555771. I have spent several hours looking on the web, but can't find anything that tells me what this thing is... so if there are any "rear end" experts out there I would greatly appreciate any help in solving this mystery.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Go to Team Camaro.org and go to the drive train section and ask for Big Gear Head to look at your numbers.

Need a pic of the cover. Kind of looks like a 8.5 but could be a 8.2. If it is a 8.5 then it won't fit they did not start using 8.5 rear ends until 1970.
