Same here. What are you guys putting down with this motor? What are worthwhile mods?

still moved out faster than bolt ons lt1 and gt mustangs.
also it was fun turning 7500rpm thru m6, 4.8 sounds way differnt than 3.622 stroke at high rpm. and sounds better. imo

well you know my setup and thoughts haha......for the fella who asked about mods to the engines basicly anything you would normally do to an ls1....and keep in mind that when choosing cams the smaller cubed motor moves your powerband up a few hundred rpms....

just a lil fyi over on the truck boards they are making as much as 350rwhp in trucks with tiny cams...

my ls1 died to high rpm oil starvation last fall i picked up an 03 lm7 for 450 bucks it was complete from pcm to oil pan....with 30,000 miles on it....sold the harness and pcm to a member here for 200 bucks....

so in short i have a engine that will handle over 500+rwhp reliably "with a power adder"
for 250 bucks....

i didnt put the engine in the car stock though...
the 706 heads were fully worked over "ported"
i used .030 cometics to kinda bump compression a little
and an 04 ls6 cam and valve springs...
and your usual bolt ons..in a 32-3300lb car havnt drove it much but it feels as peppy as the cam only ls1 was i may be off on that if so ill just up the jet size to compensate...n2o FTW....haha

4.8 turbo in a 67 bird? Does that count? I'm still an F-body. >=) Bought it, seller said it was a 5.3, when I was replacing rod bolts with ARP's I checked the crank, 4.8 baby. Truck heads, victor Jr intake with low profile elbow (decided not to run ls1 intake), LS6 cam, hardened pushrods, 25% underdriven. Picked it up complete for $500. Run it!

yup, they drop right in place. if u need car to move in, the 4.8/5.3 are priced way lower than real ls1 or 6.0

I'm sure if you stuck a snail on it that it would make up for it..
