nah, I havent ran one on my street strip car ever, actually none of my cars had one and they are all fine. All I have is a cheap shift kit, if you want to downshift just grab the shifter and do it yourself!!

No it will not hurt your transmission if you don't run one.But if you do want to run one you will need a k35955u fitzall cable from techpak. check there website for the closest place by to order one.Its not fancy but it works great.Your braket for your drive by cable should have an extra hole in it for the cruise control, use this hole to hook up your passing gear cable.

The cruise stub wont work, think about it

Cruise moves the TB by pulling. The kickdown is pulled by the TB. Compare to throttle cams which used both, ex: TPI. Cruise and TV cable stubs are on opposite sides of the cam. Luckily there are kits to add a stub to LS TBs

Kickdown isnt nearly as important as the TV cable on 700R4's. Its not necessary to run, without it you simply wont automatically downshift when the throttle exceeds the preset downshift amount (Usually 35% for one gear, 70% for two). For a drag car this is a non issue as they never downshift. Streetcars do so the kickdown is optimal

Does the kickdown give full line pressure at WOT? I thought it was important but I've been running mine with out it hooked up.
