PROJECT: LS1 RX-7 Build
#122
Excellent Thread
Your car is outstanding and the documentation in this thread is as well. I'm currently doing an LS1/T56 swap into my 88 Turbo II. I know there are differences between the FC and FD, however, there is plenty of adaptable information.
Thank you for taking the time to post your project.

Went to the track for the first time after the build in late Sept. Unfortunately my best run was not caught on video (11.61@121.8mph and I still had to let off at the 1-2 shift because the tires broke loose. This was done on regular Dunlop street tires that are very old and hard. This is my best run that was caught on video. You can hear me let off and get back on it at about the 80 foot mark (sounds like I am changing gears). Anyway I thought I would share.

The 11.61@122mph was done with the stage 2 5.3L PRC heads, 228R cam, LS6 intake and 3200 stall but I did not launch using the stall (I launched from idle). It should go a bit quicker with better tire (just had some old street Dunlops on the car) and stalling up the car a bit.

NTIMD8, that has to be the cleanest build I've seen on LS1 Tech! I'm a fan of the RX7s had a 2nd Gen about 4 years ago. The 3rd Gens are awsome too, wanted one for a long time. But I'm rollin in a 66 Buick LeSabre 2 door HT. Good job, oh BTW how did the new heads do for you, with the cam?

Thanks! I dont get much of a chance to drive this car. I bought a Porsche Turbo which I daily drive in the summer but with a family and only 2 seats I rarley get a chance to drive the RX7. Maybe once a month if I'm lucky.
Thanks! My goal was really to make it look like this motor/tranny came stock in the car. The heads really woke up the car and take advantage of the cam for sure.
Thanks. I think you are talking about the tranny fluid dip stick.
