Default Accessory Bracket Question

I've got a question for anyone that has spaced out the CamaroAccessory Drive for use with the truck balancer. What would you do about bracing if the block didn't come with that 3rd Blank boss (for the center bolt). I just noticed my block doesn't have that, and I was hoping to switch to the F-Body Accessory Drive. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Many have just drilled and tapped the boss. Other say the have not had any problems with not using the 3rd bolt (?) and have just left it with 2 bolts.

I'm running it with the 2 bolts that hold the alternator in place with 3/4" spacers to line up with the truck crank pulley, but I'm noticing that the bracket is flexing when I rev the engine. My main concern is either the bracket snapping, or the belt walking off and tearing some stuff up.

GA ...

Yeah.. I can understand your concern.. but there is not much choice when it comes to using a F-body OEM bracket. I guess you can keep looking or go aftermarket or some type of re-enforcement for the F-body stuff. I have not had to deal with it, as my block are LS1's... and already have threaded bosses..

Good Luck.

Thanks bczee. I was looking toward the reinforcement route, just don't really know where to start. I think I'll look into making a bracket to go where the stock rear support bracket would be. I really appreciate the help man. You should definitely bring that thing over to the east coast sometime
