Default Best standalone harness..

what brand of standalone harness is everyone using? i can do some wiring, but not good enough to where i can take a harness from a truck and make it a standalone and **** like that.. so i was looking at current performance's standalone kits, but wanting some feedback on other brand harness's people have used.

and if i get the harness made for my 5.3, if i was to later swap in a 6.0 would the harness itself still be correct?

Making the harness stand alone is actually simpler than it sounds. GM harnesses are pretty well stand alone from the factory with a few mods. The problem with making your own is it can be very intimidating, time consuming and labor intensive. There are whole topics devoted to it and the site LT1swap.com has a ton of info broken down by year. Brandon AKA Busta9876 (LT1swap site owner) has a ton of info and is on this board too.

Speartech (John I believe) is a sponsor on the board and I've been told they / he does good work.

You will also have to remove VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) in the PCM and delete the EGR and rear O2 sensors. Either contact can do that for you.

yeah and those 3 things are things i dont want to mess with in a harness. id rather call a place..

with the current performance kit, all i have to do is a switched 12v wire, and my gauges.. thats what im looking for i guess. lol

www.NOT-A-SPONSOR.org.gov.net

was just seeing if other companies made harnesses similar to that, so i could compare pricing.

I've bought a harness from "Techrods" on ebay.
It was a very nice harness, and he is very good to deal with. I won the auction, then asked him to give me a call so we could get the harness just to my liking. He called within a few hours. Very nice harness. I'm extremly happy with it.

I was just skipping through various threads when I saw your post, and that name....STEVE HILTNER. Please tell me this guy is not back at it again. By that I mean still cheating people. I sure wish I had found that thread before he got me!! In case anybody is still looking for him, (hopefully to do him bodily harm) he lives in Mayer, Az....a small town. He and his wife Karen are currently in Arizona bankrupcy court, and from the papers I have gotten from the court, they have even scammed the court. What is the name of their current rip-off business?? A word to the wise.... be careful. Ron

Add me to the list of people this guy tried to screw. Back when he was LS1performance parts.com in late 04 early 05 i was doing a 5.3 s10 and this pos jacked me around for months on a harness then when it showed up it was junk, But because of him I took the harness apart and learned to build them myself and found it's just not that hard. I wish i still had his and his wifes phone numbers, Id call them up and leave a bunch of messages just like old times

Default harness

please dont tell me about ssp wiring. i purchased a harness from. i spent a ton on postage sending the harness and tangibles back and for, to ensure everything works right. im almost finished wiring everything. just havent driven the vehicle yet. mayhem, spend the money once, avoid headaches and buy a proven product. i heard wonderful things abouts speartech, howell, painless and current performance. they may be more pricey than ebay but but i believe you get what you pay for. now i have to worry about my 5.3/4l60 swap. dont matter. i have a spare harness and ecu anyway. good luck.

I believe he is.

I will have a fellow member here N21923 do the rework.

wow this thread was censored to the point N21923 post was removed. You would think a lot of this info would be left on to not get burned.

Wow, I had never heard of such a thing about this guy. He was really nice to me on the phone and sent me my harness back in the time he said he would. All new connectors and wiring and it looks fantastic
