Default LSX +T-56 into......A Grand national.

That's right, I am about to attempt and complete one of the most bastard swaps known to man-kind.

I plan on shoving a 5.3 with 6.0 heads into my GN backed with a T-56 and then adding a 70mm turbo to the mix....to keep the boost factor of course

I have a couple of write-ups on this swap, it has only been done a few times so most of the info I am going to be posting here is a "How-to" for future G-body owners that want to complete a similar swap.

Alot of you may wonder why I am doing this to start with, And I'll tell you why. Reliability, cost of parts, wow factor, and of course, drive ability. I want to be able to take this car on a cross country trip and achieve mid 20's Mpg while not sweating that my motor is going to unload at any given time. I also want a manual transmission car, but installing one behind the 3.8 isn't effective at all.

Just wanted to make this thread to let everyone know what my plans were, I should be starting this project in the next 2 weeks. I am using a $9000 budget for this build and plan on buying alot of stuff used.....So i need to get my post count up too lol.

Any questions just ask away. thanks!

Ordered my motor mount plates today. Still trying to decide on whther or not to use solid motor mounts....? and Since I am going to run the T-56, I need to either fabricate a transmission crossmember or find a company who makes one.

I am underway right now till the beginning of Feb. so i promise I will post up some pictures of my tear down when i get back. I am not gonna let this thread die, lol.

thanks for the welcome!

Damn man, goin to **** off a lot of people...
**** um .

I love G bodies, and I love a turbo LS, guess It's a match made in heaven.
However, I think you will grow bored of a 70MM fast.
Why not step it up to something a little bigger?
That 5.3 should have no issue getting that thing spinning.

Can't wait to see some pictures.

Running into some issues already.

I cant seem to get a clear answer as to where i can get a full motor/trans mount kit for the G-body.

Also, am i going to have to shorten/lengthen my driveshaft?
