Default E30-LS1 -- Hot Rod

Take a look at our swap of an LS1 & T56 into our '86 BMW 325. Its now a 357i.

I really like that swap.....can you still get to the spark plugs from underneath?

new age hotrods has had an e36 swap for 2 years now?

No problem, the plugs are easy to get at, and the LS engine only has (2) radiator hoses & (2) heater hoses. The OEM had (4) and (6)! -- a good reason to get rid of it.

This is an E30, which has a smaller engine bay than the E36. Because of that, we had to remove the vacuum booster, and design a remote HydroBoost for the brakes. The master cylinder (from a '97 Mustang GT) is just behind the LH headlights - visible in our sig pic

Great work Garrett and Steve, this car is awesome. I'm looking forward to the engine/trans mounts you're putting together to make it an even easier swap for everyone.

+1 on the mounts. I just had a customer email me on doing an LS E30 swap today. Found your post whilist doing a search. Nice work.
