Been searching for a 5.3L for a few days this week and found a local guy that has nearly 10 1999 5.3L truck engines several with less than 100K. All of them go for 500 each. Is there any disadvantage to using the 1999 model year 5.3L (all stock minus injectors and tune) for a boosted or N/A application in my 98 Silverado?

There isn't really in difference in them until 03-04 when they went to DBW.
