Default Block hugger headers, how tight are they?

OK, forgive the newb question, but I just came in from dangling the 6.0 over the frame rails of my '47 Diamond T truck. The stock manifolds dump right out over the frame rails, I can't lower the engine far enough to even get started. I see many block hugger/tight fit offerings from all the popular catalogs, but no indication of how tight these really are. Did a search here, but I didn't find any thread with the measurements of the block huggers compared to the stockers. Looks like maybe Covette or GTO stockers would work?

The width of the frame (between the rails) that I have to work with is 26 1/2". Measuring roughly, the stock dumps need about 28 1/2". I'm using aluminum Covette (?) style mounts with the biscuts, it's an '01 truck engine.

As an aside, I'm using the donor trucks engine harness, ECU, and will be stripping out the unwanted stuff. The donor had 4.10 gears, same as the Dana 70 I'm using, so all I really need to have done I think is have the VATS disabled, and I should be good to go, yes?

Any ideas? I'm hoping there's an easy way out, or I have a very expensive garage ornament...

Brian

Thanks. Seeing some on the engine helps, can't tell from an ad where they end up on the engine. Looks like I'll be ordering headers!

OK, just got back from my buddy's salvage yard with a pair of GTO cast headers and am headed out right now to get the old off, and the "new" on. These LOOK like they'll tuck right in, we'll see...

Thanks. I ended up being able, with a little trimming of the frame lip, to use the GTO manifolds. So, I'm a pretty happy guy right now with that 6.0 setting between the frame rails of my truck!

Oh, I'm going to box in the notched sections, just for piece of mind, and to keep the frame from looking like somebody went after it with a torch. Which I did...

RPD; what brand are those headers and are you using HSC Engine mount? Did you have to modify anything to use those headers?

thanks!

From the photos, it looks the Goat manifolds are closer to the block than the block huggers. I'm happy with my choice.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but what is the frame spacing on that rx7? I have 23" iirc on my 4runner and I'm trying to shove an ls1 in it.
