You're in luck! The Keisler forward-mount shifter will work in the V M12 T56. It has the standard "Hurst" configured shifter stub too!

It's actually easier than the conversion of a "regular" T56, as you don't have to cut the shaft. The M12 shaft changes sizes at the shifter cup. The shaft going to the V M12 reverse lockout is smaller than the regular T56 shaft so you have to have a sleeve made that will adapt it to the Keisler shifter cup's rear hole.

You have to make sure that the pin hole in the M12 rear shaft establishes the correct relationship between the reverse lockout blade and the solenoid.

I had my CTSV 6 speed converted with a GTO mainshaft and a F-body tailshaft.

I am using a Viper configured T56 for my chevelle with a bench seat.. it has a more forward shifter location that the F-Body.. it should work for your tri-5 also.

Default Ctsv t56

Hey johnrodz,

Did you ever got the shifter to work out in your Chevy? I'm about to use the same transmission in my 69 Camaro.

Any info on the changing of the CTS-V output 3 bolt output connection to a standard UJ yoke? I'm trying to do what several of you have done above.
