Default Tach signal?

Can any of you guys tell me where to pick up the tach signal on an 2006 LS2. I am wiring my Chevelle and have Dakota gauges in the car. I was wondering if it gets picked up from the coil or an injector or????

Thanks.

The signal should come from the pcm. You should have a wire, marked on the schematics, as "engine speed". That will be the tach signal wire.

Thanks. I am using the stock harness and ECM along with the trans controller. I don't suppose you would know where that wire is in the harness? What color or what plug it is in?

I'm assuming the motor is from a GTO. PCM Connector 1 pin 48 brown/red is the tach signal. Mitchell doesn't tell me what pcm connector is which colour so you'll have to figure that out by the wire colour.
