Default Ls1 or Ls6 intake?

I have a 94 toyota pickup (mud truck) on 1 ton axles and 44" boggers. Last year I put a fresh 5.3, Ls6 cam, 918 springs, Radix, and a 4l80e in it and got to root for maybe 15 mins before sucking a load of mud through the breather hose on the pass. valve cover (dumbass).

I want to build a radical NA 408 but that will most likely take a couple years to fund, so last weekend I bought a super clean 80k 04 5.3 with 706 heads. I want to put a car intake on it but the Ls6 intakes are kinda high considering its just a temporary motor.

Would I see much of a gain with an Ls6 intake over an Ls1? There is an Ls1 intake for sale locally for 75 bucks. I plan on a FAST for the 408 later on. What do you guys think?

10-4. Are Ls1 injectors the exact same flow rate as 5.3 injectors, or would I have to update the IFR table?

Also I need an accessory bracket that mounts the alt. down low and the p. sterring pump up high. F- bdy or vette bracket?

Is the Ls1 tb different than the 5.3 tb? I guess I need a whole run down on what all I need to get to do the swap.

I still have the Ls6 cam, just needs to be polished back up. Should I slide it in or just leave well enough alone?

Do you have a truck intake now? It will give you more low end than the LS1 or 6 intake......save your money and go straight to the FAST when you are ready.....they are butt ugly, but sounds like you are going to need the low end torque for your mudder....

Did the mud mess up the Radix?

If you don't need the hood clearance just keep the truck intake. It flow the same as the LS1 and yes the LS6 flows just alittle more but for the money and having to change things up it really isn't worth it.

You probably don't need the high-end gains that the LS6 offers if this is an off road vehicle.

Radix is fine. I just want to do a super compression, super cam N/A build. I want my truck to sound and perform like all the other mud trucks with nasty carb motors, but I refuse to own a carburetor, except in my mower... hmmmmmm, maybe another lsx swap?

Everyone assumes than an off road vehicle needs lots of torque. I'm more after a high rpm screamer, and just use a high stall to skip past the weak bottom. Basically I am after maximum wheel speed in the mud.

I bought that local Ls1 intake last night. It has a huge gaping hole in the front, must be EGR. Does anyone sell a nice block off or will I have to make one?

I believe a 1 3/8" freeze plug will fit or pick up an EGR delete plug from your local GM dealer, part #12558346, here's a pic.
